TV ANCHORING AND BROADCAST JOURNALISM
Today, television and radio
broadcasting have become a very important aspect of our day-to-day lives.
Yet trained humanpower in the areas of TV anchoring and news-casting is
hard to come by. Given that TV Channels are opening up at a phenomenal
rate, trained personnel in these areas would certainly be sought after.
The programme will focus on the
psychological determinants of effective communication, basic pronunciation
and diction, voice modulation, camera friendliness and script writing.
Students will get a grounding in Communications theory, after which they
will learn to face the camera with confidence. Students will be taught
different anchoring techniques such as how to cover/conduct events in a
variety of situations and environments such as political news coverage,
celebrity events, sports, crime and entertainment events.

RADIO JOCKEYING PROGRAMMING AND
PRODUCTION
FM radio is among the fastest
growing genres of mass media, with a large number of private radio
stations coming up across the country. There is an acute shortage of good
radio presenters and radio jockeys. Students aspiring to be part of radio
jockeying, programming and production have an excellent opportunity here.
It will also benefit professionals who are already in the field and want
to up-grade their skills by getting experience in HNV’s own radio station.
The programme offers a grounding
in the theoretical and practical aspects of radio production. This will be
a multilingual programme. The student will be learning how to host talk
shows where the RJ selects the right type of music to gel with the current
theme of the ongoing chat / conversation or interview. Confidence building
techniques will be taught to train successful RJs who can host shows and
interact with online / telephonic audiences. Students will study the
fundamentals of radio programming and editing. They will learn about the
techniques of radio interview and analysis.
